However, despite its prominence, it was revealed that about 50% of consumers do not recognize Salt Charge, and among them, around 70% have never made a purchase. Notably, sweat-related phenomena do not just occur in hot weather; they can happen during crowded commutes, workouts, bathing, or even illness, leading to the loss of vital hydration and minerals regardless of the season. Hence, replenishing both water and minerals is crucial for maintaining health and optimizing performance throughout the year.

To meet these ongoing needs, Kabaya Foods plans to implement its redefined strategy starting from March 2026. This new approach includes:

1. Sales Strategy


  • - Shift from Seasonal to Year-Round Offering: Previously, Salt Charge was mainly sold during the high-demand spring and summer months. Starting in 2026, distribution will expand to a year-round basis, acknowledging the growing demand for hydration solutions during all seasons. Simultaneously, distribution will widen beyond traditional supermarkets and convenience stores into sports retailers and pharmacies.

  • - Growth in B2B Sales: In response to the recent amendments to workplace safety regulations mandating heat illness prevention measures, many companies have started to show increased interest in Salt Charge. To accommodate this demand, Kabaya has already doubled its shipment volume for office-based e-commerce, yielding a 2.6-fold increase in sales for these channels.

2. Production Strategy


  • - Year-Round Production: To support increased volume and distribution channels, Kabaya intends to begin year-round production starting in 2026. The company has recently expanded its operational capacity to ensure it can meet rising demands reliably and effectively.

  • - Introducing Bulk Options: Due to the rise in demand for continued mineral replenishment at workplaces, there will also be an expansion of larger pack sizes, like the Salt Charge Tablets BIG, designed for both individual and organizational purchases.

  • - Launch of New Marketing Campaigns: The changes will be reinforced by a new brand page, coupled with advertisement featuring singer-songwriter

  • - Collaboration for Social Health: Kabaya has entered a co-creating partnership with Shibuya Future Design aimed at promoting wellness through improved lifestyle practices that incorporate hydration and mineral intake.
