Upcoming PNH Seminar: Support for Patients and Families

Asahi Kasei Pharma is excited to announce the Second Seminar for patients and families affected by Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), scheduled for April 25, 2026. This event, which aims to raise awareness and provide support for those dealing with this rare blood disorder, will be held both in-person and online.

Understanding PNH

PNH is a serious, rare blood disorder characterized by hemolytic anemia, bone marrow dysfunction, and an increased risk of thrombosis. As of 2026, there are approximately 1,264 reported cases in Japan, as highlighted in health reports from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Patients often face challenges during treatment, experiencing persistent symptoms or difficulties communicating their concerns to healthcare professionals due to time constraints in consultations.

This seminar is designed to address these challenges. Topics will include strategies for effectively communicating with healthcare providers, and the use of the PNH Consultation Sheet. This tool enables patients to document their symptoms, concerns, and requests systematically, making it easier to relay information during medical appointments.
