Cypress Creek Energy Invests in Future Leaders with 45 Scholarships for Students Nationwide

Supporting Future Innovators: Cypress Creek Energy Scholarships

In a significant investment into the future, Cypress Creek Energy recently awarded a total of 45 scholarships as part of its Energizing Tomorrow's Leaders program. This initiative aims not only to give financial support to students pursuing higher education but also to inspire them to actively engage in the renewable energy sector. These scholarships were dispersed across 24 different communities where the company plays a vital role in developing, owning, and operating energy projects.

A Unique Application Process

The scholarship program encourages students to think critically about the impact of renewable energy on their futures. Applicants were required to submit a short video responding to the thought-provoking question: "How does renewable energy affect your future?" This approach not only provided insight into the students' academic achievements and leadership skills but also enabled them to express their community involvement. Most importantly, it showcased the students’ innovative perspectives on energy and its crucial role in shaping the future.

The recipients of these one-time scholarships, each valued at $2,500, can utilize the funds to support various educational expenses, including tuition, housing, books, and other necessary costs as they work towards their educational aspirations.

Kevin Smith, the CEO of Cypress Creek Energy, expressed his pride in this initiative and the students it aims to empower. He emphasized, "The future of our industry, our communities, and our country will be shaped by young people like these students. One of the most rewarding parts of this program is seeing the talent, ambition, and creativity that exists in the communities where we operate. We're proud to support these students as they take the next step in their education and look forward to seeing the impact they'll make in the years ahead."

A Vision for Education in Energy

The Energizing Tomorrow's Leaders scholarship program was launched back in 2023, reflecting Cypress Creek's commitment to positively impacting the younger generation in areas where it operates its solar and battery storage projects. The ultimate goal is to inspire students to explore careers within the energy sector and encourage them to consider fields related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

In 2026, the program expanded its reach to include 33 municipalities, culminating in a total of 207 scholarships awarded since its inception. The cumulative worth of these scholarships now stands at $343,500, affecting students across 50 municipalities nationwide.
