The Future Warehouse: Geekplus and LPP Logistics Revolutionize Retail Logistics with Smart Automation

Defining the Future Warehouse

In a groundbreaking development, Geekplus, a global leader in warehouse robotics, has expanded its partnership with LPP Logistics, a subsidiary of the international fashion group LPP. Together, they aim to scale a “future warehouse” built on automation, enhancing the speed and resilience of retail order fulfillment across Europe.

This partnership transforms a successful deployment into a replicable model, enabling LPP Logistics to implement a flexible automation strategy that adapts to the evolving needs of retail operations, customer demands, and seasonal fluctuations.

Custom Automation Solutions

LPP Logistics utilizes a combination of Geekplus technologies tailored to meet local operational requirements. Based on Geekplus's extensive experience with deploying large fleets of RoboShuttle and P-series robots throughout Europe, the program applies proven design and deployment processes across various facilities, reducing integration complexity and facilitating quicker, more predictable operational launches.

The tech-driven solution is crafted to meet the escalating demands of modern retail, particularly during peak seasonal moments when order volumes surge dramatically. Geekplus’s design allows LPP Logistics to maintain a highly scalable, robotically-driven order fulfillment process capable of adapting to the fluctuations in fashion inventory diversity and product range.

The Role of Automation in Retail Logistics

Poland’s strategic importance within European retail and logistics heightens the significance of automation. As LPP continues to strengthen its distribution capabilities domestically, automation emerges as a critical factor, ensuring adaptable capacity, resilient operations, and lasting performance in order fulfillment.

The automation setup boasts 1.4 million high-bay storage locations and has recorded an impressive 99% efficiency improvement. Designed not to replace human workers but to enhance LPP Logistics’ operations, this system reduces manual tasks and walking distances, allowing human employees to focus more on monitoring processes and addressing exceptions. This not only improves working conditions but also builds operational capacity in robotic management and problem-solving.

Moreover, Geekplus’s advanced operating system supports continuous tracking and control of LPP’s inventory flow. In two of LPP’s logistics facilities, Geekplus robots collaborate effectively in storing and relocating a vast array of fashion products. Over 1,600 autonomous robots operate between shelving units and workstations, servicing hundreds of thousands of storage spots and bins.

Scalability and Flexibility at Its Core

A key aspect of the project is scalability. Geekplus systems are developed to permit LPP Logistics to progressively expand robot capacities, workstations, and overall throughput in response to seasonal peaks, shifting storage requirements, and increasing SKUs. The Geekplus robot management system enables centralized control of large robotic fleets, accommodating over 1,000 robots at one location, thus ensuring operational continuity during warehouse expansions—critical in a retail environment where flexibility and reliability directly impact customer service and business performance.

Hong Yu, CEO of Geekplus Europe, stated, “Geekplus is proud to work with LPP Logistics to expand our warehouse automation strategy into two distribution centers in Poland. One of the biggest challenges in retail is maintaining fast and reliable processing of large-volume fashion orders while remaining flexible enough to handle seasonal demand and evolving product lines. Geekplus is here to bridge this gap by enabling high-density order fulfillment focused on fashion today, while offering LPP Logistics the flexibility to scale up capacity.”

Sebastian Sołtys, CEO of LPP Logistics, added, “By choosing Geekplus, we brought measurable value to our order fulfillment model—improving daily operations and enhancing confidence in our scalability. Geekplus technology aids in enhancing flow efficiency and throughput while significantly reducing manual handling. Equally important, their deployment approach has assured us needed certainty for expansion across locations. With Geekplus as our partner, we can deliver reliable performance while maintaining scalable flexibility aligned with LPP’s growing fashion range and changing seasonal demands, ultimately supporting a better customer experience.”

Throughout both locations, Geekplus facilitated a phased implementation focused on sustaining operational continuity and minimizing disruptions, allowing LPP Logistics to continue meeting customer expectations during the transition period.
