Fostering Business Ties Between Japan and Kyrgyzstan
On December 20, 2025, Japan's Prime Minister, Taichi, and the President of Kyrgyzstan participated in the first summit between Japan and the five Central Asian nations. During this historic meeting, the "Tokyo Declaration" was adopted, emphasizing the development of the transportation route known as the "Caspian Sea Route." This route aims to connect Central Asia directly to Europe without traversing through Russia, marking a significant shift in regional logistics and trade dynamics.
As the relationship between Japan and Central Asia deepens, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Kyrgyz Republic Japanese Human Resources Development Center (KRJC) are uniting to foster economic collaboration. They will host a business exchange event titled "Mini EXPO" in Tokyo and Osaka, welcoming 15 Kyrgyz business leaders to understand and adopt Japanese management methods. The event will be accompanied by sequential interpretation in Russian and Japanese, making the exchanges all the more accessible for participants from both nations.
The program runs from February 4 for 13 days, during which Kyrgyz leaders will visit various Japanese companies, expanding their networks while learning about innovative business strategies. The Mini EXPO is an important part of JICA’s training program aimed at enhancing the economic ties between Japan and Kyrgyzstan and facilitating mutual growth.
Kyrgyz companies across diverse sectors—such as healthcare, food production, and manufacturing—will engage directly with Japanese firms at the Mini EXPO. This platform allows for constructive discussions and the establishment of new business linkages. With previous visits yielding 79 inter-company agreements and 23 contracts, the KRJC continues to foster robust exchanges and enduring business partnerships between Japan and Kyrgyzstan.
As international business opportunities expand, it’s crucial to pay attention to this developing partnership that looks promising for both nations.
