Celebrating Achievement: University of Bridgeport's 2026 Commencement Speakers Announced

University of Bridgeport's 2026 Commencement Ceremonies

The University of Bridgeport (UB) is set to honor its graduates with an exciting lineup for its 2026 Commencement, scheduled for May 2 at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This year's ceremony will be highlighted by keynote speaker Carl Wilkens, a prominent humanitarian and author, who is noted for his exceptional contributions to promoting peace and fostering moral courage. In recognition of his remarkable impact, Wilkens will also receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

Recognizing Talented Student Speakers

In addition to the keynote address, UB will showcase the voices of its students during the ceremonies. Ananda L. Lindsey, representing the undergraduate class, will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a minor in Pre-Medicine. Lindsey has exemplified leadership and dedication throughout her time at UB, achieving numerous accolades, including being the president of multiple student organizations. Her commitment to public health is also evident, as she has interned with Planned Parenthood of Southern New England before pursuing a career supporting children with autism and developmental disorders.

Sebastian Alix-Trabucco will represent the graduate class, earning a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Marketing. Esteemed for his academic excellence with a 4.0 GPA and membership in the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Alix-Trabucco has also actively contributed to the university as its digital marketing coordinator. He plans to use his degree to enhance higher education marketing while instigating community initiatives focused on urban gardening and sustainability.

A Milestone Moment for Graduates

The Commencement will confer over 1,400 degrees to graduates across various disciplines—an exciting milestone for both the students and the university. This ceremony not only marks the culmination of years of hard work but also serves as a testament to the rich and diverse experiences that UB students share.

The event is open to media attendees, and special arrangements will be made for early entry. Those interested in covering the event can reach out to Abby Levandoski, the assistant director of communications and content strategy at UB, for more information.
