VENTI 2025: A Global Initiative Against Chronic Pain
The upcoming
VENTI 2025 international conference is set to take place on
November 7-8, 2025, at
KITTE (JP Tower) in Marunouchi, Tokyo. This significant event is co-hosted by
Dr. Yuji Okuno, the director of Okuno Clinic, and
Dr. Gerard Goh, head of the Catheter Treatment Center at Alfred Hospital in Australia. Together, they aim to introduce an innovative approach to chronic pain management worldwide, specifically focusing on the treatment of the
vascular condition known as 'Moyamoya vessels'.
Gathering of Experts
The
VENTI 2025 conference will gather
approximately 300 participants, with around
250 expected to be international medical professionals. Notable faculty from institutions like
Stanford University,
Oxford University, and
the University of Chicago are slated to share their knowledge and expertise during the sessions. This event represents a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of vascular embolotherapy for pain management.
Understanding Moyamoya Vessels
The
Moyamoya vessels are an important factor in the persistent pain experienced by many individuals. In essence, these vessels can produce inflammation that leads to chronic pain conditions. As we age, these abnormal blood vessels do not regress as expected, causing continuous pain signals to be sent to the brain, resulting in a cycle of chronic pain. This phenomenon makes it essential that medical professionals can identify and treat these vessels to alleviate long-term discomfort effectively.
A New Hope: TAME Treatment Approach
At the heart of the VENTI 2025 agenda is the
Transcatheter Arterial Embolization for Musculoskeletal Disorders (TAME) technique developed by Dr. Okuno. Introduced in
2013, this pioneering method utilizes a minimally invasive catheterization technique to target Moyamoya vessels directly. TAME allows for medication to be precisely delivered to the problematic area without the need for a traditional surgical procedure. This outpatient procedure typically lasts about
20 minutes, requiring only a simple bandage for post-treatment care, and has been recognized for its effectiveness and safety.
Future Perspectives in Pain Treatment
VENTI 2025 will include presentations by chronic pain specialists, live demonstrations, and case studies that highlight the successes of the TAME treatment. Participants will engage in discussions regarding innovative techniques for pain management while establishing a global framework for exchanging ideas and expertise. The ultimate goal is to spread awareness of this promising treatment option to healthcare practitioners worldwide, enabling better care for those suffering from unexplained chronic pain.
Profiles of the Organizers
Dr. Yuji Okuno is a recognized leader in vascular treatment methodologies. After graduating from
Keio University School of Medicine in 2006, he specialized in interventional radiology and focused remarkable efforts on researching pathological neovascularization. As the founder of Okuno Clinic, Dr. Okuno is dedicated to educating both domestic and international audiences about TAME through numerous speaking engagements annually.
Dr. Gerard Goh serves as the head of interventional radiology at Australia’s
Alfred Hospital. He is heavily involved in international vascular treatment discussions and plays a pivotal role in driving support for fluid collaboration with Dr. Okuno for VENTI 2025.
Join Us at VENTI 2025
The
VENTI 2025 conference is not only an opportunity for medical professionals to learn about innovative techniques in pain management but also a chance to become part of an important movement advocating for better treatment methodologies. The event is officially supported by the growing clinical implementations and insurance approvals of TAME across various countries, including the
FDA in the USA and
BfArM in Germany.
