YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary with Unique Beer Launch
YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO, a gem under the Sapporo Holdings umbrella, is commemorating its second anniversary by introducing a special limited-edition beer called
Travelogue, which will be available exclusively at the brewery beginning April 4. This innovative brew was inspired by ideas sourced directly from customers, making it a truly collaborative creation.
The process leading to Travelogue began last April with the
YEBISU ∞ JOURNEY, an interactive tour that encouraged participants to submit their visions for future beers. From approximately 600 unique concepts presented by enthusiastic beer lovers, the brewery forged a refreshing and vibrant creation intended to bring a smile to anyone who tries it.
Travelogue is a zesty yuzu mint ale that features a bright yuzu aroma, refined bitterness, and a cool freshness from mint—all contributing to a drink that embodies the spirit of spring with a light, pleasant finish. The use of sustainable barley malt, known as
Regenova, highlights YEBISU's commitment to minimizing environmental impact while crafting quality beer.
YEBISU's history spans over 135 years, a testimony to its dedication to innovation and quality in beer production. The introduction of sustainable ingredients speaks to the brand's forward-thinking approach to beer culture and environmental stewardship. The brewery aims to continue these initiatives, ensuring future generations can enjoy world-class beer while also being mindful of their ecological footprint.
A Word from Ryota Arisato, Chief Experience Brewer
Ryota Arisato, who oversees brewing at YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO, expresses his excitement: “Travelogue is a celebration of our two-year journey at YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO. It is made possible through the creative ideas from our guests, and I extend my gratitude for their enthusiastic participation. We've designed this beer with the philosophy that 'beer is a journey.' With its lively yuzu scent, balanced bitterness, and refreshing mint, we hope it brings joy and embodies the essence of spring.”
Arisato joined Sapporo Breweries in 2012, initially working at the Hokkaido brewery on beer production. His path led him to specialize in yeast research while also earning a Brewmaster credential in Germany. Returning home, he continued contributing to new product development and research, eventually becoming responsible for brewing at YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO.
The Spirit of YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO
Opened in April 2024, YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO serves as not only a brewery but also an experiential center that immerses guests in the rich heritage of YEBISU beer. This unique venue includes three distinct areas: a museum celebrating the brand's roots, a working brewery that currently produces the beer, and a taproom designed to reshape the connection between beer and its enthusiasts for the future. Visitors can enjoy exclusive YEBISU beers while delving into over 135 years of history.
Join YEBISU in celebrating its two-year anniversary and delight in the exclusive
Travelogue—a beer forged by the collective creativity of its patrons. Together, they craft a narrative that not only honors tradition but also anticipates the future of beer enjoyment.
