Clou Unveils Innovative Energy Storage Solutions at Solar & Storage Live UK 2025
Clou's Latest Innovations in Energy Storage at Solar & Storage Live UK 2025
On September 26, 2025, Clou Electronics Co., Ltd. made a significant mark in the energy storage sector at the Solar & Storage Live UK 2025 event held in Birmingham, England. This Tier-1 BNEF energy storage system provider introduced its advanced Aqua-C3.0 Pro energy storage system for the first time in Europe, highlighting innovative technologies aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and safety in large-scale applications.
The UK energy storage market is experiencing robust growth, fueled by clear policies, established market mechanisms, and a variety of revenue streams. As utility-scale projects continue to evolve, there is a rapid increase in demand for energy storage in the commercial and industrial sectors. In response, Clou has debuted its Aqua-C3.0 Pro, which features a high-capacity cell exceeding 600Ah and a storage capacity of up to 6.88MWh per cabinet. This state-of-the-art system promises a significant improvement in system efficacy, safety, and ease of operation, reducing total ownership costs by 10.63%.
The Aqua-C3.0 Pro is an enhanced version of its predecessor Aqua-C2.5, showcasing numerous improvements through several innovative technological advancements. With a direct cooling technology that integrates refrigerant directly into the cells, proprietary Smart Scales balancing technology, and SiC String PCS, the Aqua-C3.0 Pro boasts a Round Trip Efficiency (RTE) of 92.3% and has the capability to increase total energy output by 4% throughout the system's lifespan.
For heightened security, the CTR architecture distinguishes thermal and electrical pathways, facilitating directional ventilation. Collaboratively developed with the Corporate Research Center of the Midea Group, the system incorporates the explosion-proof active ventilation solution called ThermoFlux 2.0. This comprehensive safety solution includes early warning alerts, fire suppression systems, explosion protection, and effective ventilation, ensuring safe operation and business efficiency.
In terms of operation and maintenance, Clou's system utilizes a standard 20-foot container for ease of transport. The CTR architecture is designed with fewer components and interfaces, simplifying installation. The self-powered auxiliary system streamlines wiring in the station, while the Smart Scale technology allows for remote operation and maintenance, minimizing the need for manual maintenance, enhancing deployment efficiency, and ensuring stable long-term operation, thus optimizing overall operating costs.
In addition to launching new products, Clou showcased its advanced product portfolio, which includes the Aqua-C2.5 liquid-cooled energy storage system, the CI Aqua-E233 energy storage system, and Clou EMS, all designed for various applications across grid, commercial, and industrial sectors. With nearly three decades of extensive experience in the electricity domain, Clou is committed to providing highly compatible system solutions to its clients and actively contributing to the energy storage market's development in the UK.
Since its global expansion in 2018, Clou has established a strong foothold in the American markets and has successfully completed multiple large-scale projects, including the first large-scale lithium-ion energy storage project in Indiana (110.2 MWh), the largest energy storage power station in Mississippi (765 MWh), and the most compliant project in California (270 MWh). Furthermore, it has executed the largest integrated photovoltaic and energy storage project in South America (485 MWh). This acquired experience in the Americas is set to enhance Clou's involvement in Europe’s energy transition.
Moving forward, Clou aims to integrate its products and solutions within local electricity markets and energy ecosystems, supported by synergistic teams, technologies, and service provider networks, to ensure swift responses in operations and maintenance.
