CellResorz Starts Operations at New Haneda Process Development Center for Regenerative Medicine

CellResorz Launches Haneda Process Development Center

CellResorz, a subsidiary of Alfredsa Group based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has officially commenced operations at the newly established Haneda Process Development Center (Haneda PDC) within the Haneda Innovation City. This initiative is part of a strategic move to enhance the infrastructure supporting the development and manufacturing of regenerative medicine products in Japan.

Background and Purpose

The field of regenerative medicine has seen an influx of promising drug candidates emerging from academia and startups. However, the transition from these preliminary stages to practical and commercial applications encounters several hurdles, including the establishment of manufacturing processes and quality evaluation methods, as well as compliance with regulatory authorities. Addressing these challenges requires specialized knowledge and a well-organized support system that can guide the development process from the initial research stages.

Recognizing the critical role of stable supply in pharmaceuticals and medical products, Alfredsa Group is advancing its Total Supply Chain Services (TSCS) to cover everything from cell material supply to distribution to medical institutions. CellResorz is actively building a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) service that supports the entire lifecycle of drug candidates, from the provision of domestically sourced master cells to the manufacturing of cell products. This initiative has included the development of the Haneda PDC, a facility designed to support early-stage development for academia and startups, facilitating the establishment of manufacturing protocols, regulatory compliance, and logistical strategies.

The recently opened Haneda PDC is geared towards enhancing the development and manufacturing capabilities within the group’s TSCS, specifically aimed at practical applications of drug candidates. The center will provide various services including process development, quality testing, manufacturing of investigational drugs, and facilitation of regulatory approvals. Furthermore, it will utilize Alfredsa Group’s extensive experience in the development and distribution of regenerative medicine products to propose effective distribution methods and develop processes aligned with specific conditions required for transportation. Its strategic location near Haneda Airport also allows for better collaboration with domestic and international regenerative medicine companies and research institutions, supporting customers' goals for global market expansion.

Through the operationalization of Haneda PDC, CellResorz aims to expedite the commercialization and social implementation of drug candidates while expanding the functionality of its regenerative medicine TSCS, thereby contributing to the industrialization of regenerative medicine.

Facility Overview

The Haneda PDC features specialized areas for various support functions essential to the development of regenerative medicine. The facility will accommodate activities related to the qualification of performance (PQ) and process validation (PV), aimed at starting CDMO service provision by the end of the 2026 fiscal year.

Future Outlook

The opening of Haneda PDC is expected to have a minimal immediate impact on this fiscal year’s performance. Nonetheless, it is anticipated to significantly enhance the group's corporate value in the medium to long term. Should additional relevant information arise, CellResorz is committed to promptly sharing updates.

Conclusion

The Haneda PDC is a pivotal addition to the infrastructure for regenerative medicine in Japan, aiming to streamline the development process and facilitate compliance with necessary regulations. As CellResorz embarks on this new chapter, it holds the potential to become a leader in the regenerative medicine sector, ensuring the efficient transition from innovative ideas to practical applications.
