Washington, January 15, 2025 – The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) has officially announced the election of Shelley Stewart Jr. as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. With a storied career and extensive experience in corporate governance, Stewart is set to steer the organization towards further excellence and inclusion in corporate leadership.
Stewart, the Managing Partner of Bottom Line Advisory, LLC, has been a dedicated member of The ELC since 1997. His election comes as he succeeds Gale V. King, marking a new chapter for the organization that represents Black CEOs and corporate executives globally.
A Proven Leader
Stewart's extensive resume reflects over four decades of leadership experience in major corporations including DuPont de Nemours, Tyco International, and Raytheon. Throughout his career, he has held high-ranking positions, including Chief Procurement Officer where he significantly contributed to operational improvements and supply chain strategies. His role at Bottom Line Advisory shows his continued commitment to guiding organizations in procurement and innovation strategies.
In his new capacity as Chair, Stewart is enthusiastic about the potential to enhance the ELC's mission of fostering inclusive leadership practices that drive impactful corporate changes.

Contributions to Education and Community
In addition to his corporate accomplishments, Stewart serves on the boards of numerous organizations such as Otis Worldwide and Clean Harbors. His role as a Trustee at both Northeastern University and Howard University underscores his dedication to education and mentorship. At Howard, he chairs the Board of Visitors for the School of Business, where he has been instrumental in forming partnerships with Fortune 500 companies to open pathways for students in business, particularly in supply chain management.
Holding an MBA from the University of New Haven, along with bachelor's and master's degrees in criminal justice from Northeastern University, Stewart is well-equipped to lead The ELC. He is also the co-author of
