In a significant move towards combating human trafficking, Narita International Airport Corporation has announced enhanced efforts coinciding with the "World Day Against Trafficking in Persons" on July 30. Following the success of last year's initiatives, the airport is set to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign utilizing digital signage within the airport premises, alongside participating in joint training sessions aimed at fighting this pressing global issue.

Human trafficking, recognized as one of the most rapidly expanding criminal enterprises worldwide, presents a critical social challenge. The aviation sector is particularly vulnerable, potentially allowing traffickers to exploit air travel. Digital Signage Awareness Campaign

Beginning on July 27 and running through August 31, 2026, the airport will showcase awareness videos related to human trafficking on its digital signage networks. Locations for this campaign include:

- Terminal 1, 4th Floor, International Departure Lobby
- Terminal 2, 3rd Floor, International Departure Lobby
- Terminal 3, 2nd Floor, Departure Lobby

This initiative aims to foster understanding among airport users and elevate public recognition of human trafficking, informing passengers about the signs and encouraging vigilance within the airport environment.

Participation in Joint Training Sessions

As part of a cross-industry effort within the aviation sector, Narita International Airport will participate in joint training organized by International bodies, industry organizations, and airport authorities. This training, scheduled for July 28, 2026, at Haneda Airport, will offer a platform for diverse stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences related to preventing human trafficking.

Hosted by ANA Holdings and Japan Airlines, this training session will include a presentation from Narita Airport on its ongoing efforts and strategies to combat trafficking.
