World Manufacturing Convention 2025 Set to Kick Off in Hefei

The 2025 World Manufacturing Convention (WMC) is set to take place from September 20 to 23 in Hefei, Anhui Province, an event backed by the State Council that aims to foster international dialogue and cooperation. This year’s theme, "Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better Future," reflects the growing focus on advanced technologies and sustainable practices in the manufacturing sector.

Hefei, known for its modern industrial capabilities, will welcome participants from around the globe, with Slovakia honored as the Guest Country and Henan Province designated as the Guest Province. Such introductions highlight the significance of diverse contributions in manufacturing and the potential for collaboration within and beyond China.

The convention will feature a rich program that includes an opening ceremony, keynote speeches from industry leaders, matchmaking sessions to facilitate investment opportunities, and a comprehensive exhibition to showcase achievements relevant to the 14th Five-Year Plan. Among the highlights are specialized sessions that address emerging trends in manufacturing, investment matchmaking focused on growth sectors, and press briefings to disseminate the latest insights and innovations in the industry.

Among the noteworthy reports to be released at this event is the 2025 Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises list, along with the Development Report on Ten Key Areas in building a manufacturing power. The Digital Transformation Capability Level of the Manufacturing Industry (2025) will also provide valuable insights into the extent of digital integration within factories and production lines.

The convention is structured around four flagship events, with a series of exhibitions divided into ten zones. Here, both national and provincial accomplishments will be showcased, demonstrating the advancements made across multiple sectors under the current Five-Year Plan.
