On March 2, 2026, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, global tech leader HONOR showcased its ambitious plans for an integrated AI ecosystem. The company aims to redefine user interaction with its innovative concept called the HONOR AI Connect platform. This strategic move seeks to unify various AI services, gearing up to connect over 20,000 AI functionalities by the end of 2026.

Fang Fei, President of Products at HONOR, highlighted that this initiative represents a significant shift in the company's identity - from a smartphone manufacturer to a driving force in the AI device ecosystem. During the AI Connect panel, she participated in a profound discussion with Philippe Lucas, Vice President of Orange Innovation, regarding the convergence of AI, devices, and connectivity. Emphasizing the theme of breaking barriers, the dialog underscored HONOR's commitment to collaboration with partners like Orange, focusing on expanding into new device categories such as education technology, smart home products, and audio devices.

Fang Fei drew an intriguing parallel to the Cambrian explosion, stating that the industry is on the brink of a similar surge in AI device variations. Much like that historical event resulted in an explosion of new life forms, the current AI trend is poised to usher in a wave of innovative intelligent devices. As artificial intelligence evolves, new forms are expected to emerge, including embodied AI applications, such as the HONOR Robot Phone, which exemplifies the integration of robotics with traditional smartphone technology.

In her address, Fang Fei stated, “We believe that walled gardens in technology should become a thing of the past. Our vision is simple: to merge human-centered approaches with technology to maximize individual potential. We are creating AI assistants that enhance creativity and connection for our users.” This deep transformation is fueled by advancements in distributed technologies, moving beyond traditional human-computer interactions.

Key trends underlining this transformation include the ‘decoupling’ of intelligent equipment, pushing devices towards specialization intended for specific applications, and the integration of ubiquitous AI access points, which generate adaptable interaction paradigms tailored to real-world contexts.

Through the HONOR AI Connect platform, the company aims to deliver a truly cohesive experience. In this evolving landscape, the AI interface will function as an agent - a personal digital twin that lives across the user’s devices. By utilizing an open platform, this digital twin is designed to understand the user’s intentions via their smartphones, effortlessly extending its grasp to engage with connected vehicles, smart home systems, or service robots.

This new generation of devices challenges traditional forms and embodies HONOR's concept of Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI), shifting from passive tools to proactive partners. The HONOR Robot Phone serves as a prime example, acting as a personal cameraman by automatically tracking and recording video, empowering users to take a more active role in crafting their memories.

The launch event on March 1 also introduced the latest innovation in HONOR's folding smartphones, the HONOR Magic V6, and a range of new computers, tablets, and devices.
