Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026
India is preparing to host the
Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 from
November 2 to 5, welcoming more than
130 countries to New Delhi. This landmark event aims to facilitate dialogue among global policymakers, investors, and innovators about advancing
clean energy investments, forming technology partnerships, and fostering international cooperation around sustainable energy practices. The summit, organized by India's
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), will coincide with the
9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the
4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH). This coordinated effort creates a substantial platform to connect renewable energy markets, promote multilateral cooperation, and explore emerging technologies in the sector.
As India's
clean energy sector continues to expand rapidly, the summit is strategically significant. As of August 2026, India boasts a
non-fossil fuel capacity exceeding
304 GW—this includes
168 GW sourced from solar energy, with a bold goal of reaching
500 GW of non-fossil capacity by
2030. Achieving this ambitious target will necessitate an influx of investment across various areas, including renewable generation, transmission, energy storage, manufacturing, and green hydrogen initiatives. Such developments present substantial opportunities for international financiers, technology providers, and industry stakeholders to collaborate.
Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has reaffirmed India’s commitment, stating that it became the first G20 nation to meet its targets established under the
Paris Agreement. The summit will act as a significant forum to delve into opportunities that could hasten the global transition to sustainable energy sources. Key discussions will revolve around vital issues such as
clean energy financing, resilient supply chains, and the deployment of green hydrogen technologies. Furthermore, representatives from developing nations can utilize this convergence to bolster cooperation on
affordable energy access, exchange innovative technology, and explore creative financing solutions.
The ISA Assembly will add a multilateral dimension to the dialogue, uniting participating countries around practical solutions designed to enhance solar energy deployment, mobilize investments, and strengthen local capabilities in renewable energy sectors.
Shri Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, and President of the ISA Assembly, remarked, "India's clean energy journey illustrates how ambition can flourish when matched with strategic investments, groundbreaking innovations, and persistent efforts. The energy transition requires collective responsibility. At the
Bharat RE 2026, we urge governments, investors, and innovators to collaborate, fortify supply chains, and create affordable and accessible clean energy solutions for all. Together, we can transform shared ambitions into enduring advancements."
Expecting over
75,000 participants, the summit will feature more than
400 exhibitors,
500 speakers, and
90 curated sessions. The objective of the
Bharat RE Summit & Expo 2026 is to forge connections between investment opportunities and groundbreaking ideas, technologies, and partnerships that will accelerate the global transition to sustainable energy sources.
