In a significant development for the renewable energy sector, JA Solar has been chosen to supply one gigawatt (GW) of its highly efficient DeepBlue 4.0 Pro photovoltaic (PV) modules for the groundbreaking Banka and Bilasuvar solar power projects in Azerbaijan. These projects, spearheaded by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, also known as Masdar, represent the largest utility-scale solar undertakings in the country.

The solar plants are expected to collectively produce around 1.53 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually. This progress is vital as it will prevent approximately 1.15 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, thus playing a crucial role in Azerbaijan's ambition to diversify its energy portfolio and attain its renewable energy targets.
