Shenyang Launches Indices for Rowing Development and Hutong Revitalization Initiatives
On September 10, 2026, Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province in northeast China, took a significant step towards enhancing its cultural and sports landscape by launching two pivotal indices aimed at fostering community engagement in rowing and the revitalization of traditional hutongs. These reports, namely the China (Shenyang) Rowing Development Index and the China (Shenyang) Hutong Revitalization Index, were unveiled during the 2026 China (Shenyang) Exchange on Integrated Development of Culture, Tourism, Sports, and Commerce.
Co-hosted by the Shenyang Municipal People's Government and the Brand Work Office of Xinhua News Agency, the event drew participants from government sectors, industries, academia, and research institutions. The goal was to discuss innovative strategies and collaborative models that would promote the intertwined development of culture, tourism, sports, and commerce within the region.
