Roland DG TY-300 Receives BLI 2026 Pick Award for Direct-to-Film Excellence

Roland DG TY-300 Achieves BLI 2026 Pick Award

Roland DG, a global leader in digital printing solutions, recently celebrated a significant accomplishment: the Roland DG TY-300 direct-to-film (DTF) printer has been awarded the prestigious BLI 2026 Pick Award by Keypoint Intelligence. This recognition is attributed to the printer's outstanding performance in the competitive landscape of direct-to-film technology, making it a notable player in the transformation of apparel decoration.

What Makes the TY-300 Stand Out?

The BLI Pick Award is highly esteemed in the industry, reflecting Keypoint Intelligence's rigorous testing and evaluation processes. The TY-300 was subjected to extensive assessments focusing on critical factors such as image quality, color performance, durability, productivity, and overall usability. The verdict? The printer excels in each category, making it the clear choice for those engaged in fabric printing.

During the evaluation, the TY-300 was classified as the 'Outstanding Direct-to-Film Printer' within the 1 and 2 printhead (60-80 cm) category. David Sweetnam, Director of EMEA/APAC Research Lab Services at Keypoint Intelligence, stated, "The TY-300 delivered an exceptionally strong overall performance in our testing. Its image quality was consistently impressive, achieving the largest color gamut recorded for a CMYK-only DTF device."

Performance Highlights

Keypoint Intelligence's analysis underscored the TY-300's remarkable color accuracy. In testing on white T-shirts, the printer established the lowest average DeltaE variance for spot colors, with only one color surpassing the Delta E00 6.0 threshold. The printer's performance on black garments also shone, thanks to its enhanced white ink application in high-quality mode, which facilitated more precise reproduction of challenging brand colors.

Notably, washability emerged as another critical strength of the TY-300. Throughout 20 rigorous wash-and-tumble-dry cycles, the printer displayed no visible degradation in its fine details or color vibrancy. Text and graphics maintained clarity and quality, affirming its reliability for demanding garment decoration tasks that require enduring and high-quality results.

Productivity and Innovation

In addition to its superior printing capabilities, the TY-300 demonstrated impressive production rates, accomplishing 117.33 square feet per hour in the recommended production mode. For those focused on speed, a specialized 4-pass mode went beyond 188.11 square feet per hour, ensuring timely output without compromising quality. Features like white ink cartridge interchangeability during operation and nozzle blockage management further enhance the printer's operational efficiency.

With leading-edge technology like the latest VersaWorks RIP, users benefit from streamlined spot-color optimization and advanced color management techniques. Roland DG Connect also provides cloud-based device monitoring and analytics, enabling users to manage production visibility effectively.

Celebrating Innovation in Garment Decoration

In response to this accolade, Ryugo Nimura, President of Roland DG's Global Sales and Marketing Division, expressed gratitude for the recognition. He stated, "We are very honored to receive this Pick Award. Keypoint Intelligence's rigorous testing has confirmed the TY-300's ability to deliver exceptional direct-to-film performance. This underscores our commitment to advancing the garment decoration industry and expanding creative opportunities for our customers."
