On August 2, Pal System Electric, a subsidiary based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, held a vibrant event titled "Konsen-kun and the Earth Warming STOP Operation!" aimed at teaching children about renewable energy in a fun and interactive manner. This event took place at the East Shinjuku headquarters of the cooperative, attracting roughly 50 participants in person and 19 viewers online, far exceeding the expected attendance.

The event was divided into two main parts: a lively science show and a hands-on workshop. The first part featured the popular science duo, Nori Nori & Hina Hina, known for their TikTok channel "Chemical Geek's Daily Life." Their engaging performance involved hands-on experiments designed to show the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions to combat global warming. The official character, Konsen-kun, joined the duo to cheer on the audience.

Kids were thrilled to partake in experiments demonstrating fundamental chemical reactions. One standout experiment involved mixing baking soda and citric acid to create a fizzy eruption, while another showcased an oxidation-reduction reaction that changed the color of a liquid when iodine solution was combined with vitamin C. Many children expressed their excitement, with comments like, "I was surprised, but it was so much fun!"

Discovering Renewable Energy



The second part of the event showcased the principles of renewable energy utilized by Pal System Electric, exploring their initiatives to reduce environmental loads caused by greenhouse gas emissions. Attendees had the opportunity to create a mini electric train called the “Coil Train,” which used batteries, magnets, and copper wire to generate electricity. Families worked collaboratively, with guidance from Nori Nori & Hina Hina, to complete their projects.
