Wonderfy Delivers Innovative STEAM Education Content at Ebara Corporation's Summer Program

On July 28, 2026, Wonderfy Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo and known for its educational app "Think!Think!", collaborated with Pasona Foster to provide STEAM education content for children of employees at Ebara Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial machinery including pumps. This initiative took place during a short-term summer program dubbed "Ebara Land" aimed towards school-aged children from grades 1 to 6.

A total of 22 children participated in the event, where they engaged with digital learning materials designed to cultivate programming skills through fun games, as well as interdisciplinary activities that encompass elements of science and math. The program is part of Wonderfy's ongoing commitment to deliver enriching learning opportunities that encourage children to enjoy thinking and inquiry.

Overview of the Experience-based STEAM Education Content

The Wonderfy program was incorporated into Pasona Foster's summer initiative "Ebara Land". Within this corporate childcare setting, the program ran over five days of the summer break, incorporating multiple activities designed specifically for the children, one of which included the STEAM content developed by Wonderfy.

The sessions were structured in two parts, each lasting 60 minutes. Children learned foundational programming concepts and participated in engaging challenges, such as moving game characters and launching original fireworks, facilitating hands-on experiences of advanced programming. During the second part of the program, they explored various STEAM-related activities.

First Session: Fostering Programming Skills through Gaming

In the first session, Wonderfy used its digital education materials to introduce children to programming concepts interactively. Despite varying levels of prior experience, participants were able to grasp the basic ideas of programming while enjoying the learning process. Using a game called "Code Adventure," children guided characters using coded blocks while learning about sequential processing, loops, and conditional branching.

Following this, they transitioned to utilizing an analog tool known as programming paper, where they learned about repetition and conditional instructions in programming. The follow-up activities involved a challenging unit called "Code Crafters," where children controlled a ninja's movements through coded blocks, completing quests while gaining insights into sequential processing and even programming a fireworks display.

Second Session: Interdisciplinary STEAM Experiences

In the second session, participants experienced three distinct STEAM activities focusing on science, engineering, and mathematics:

1. Science: "Tecron and the Secret Laboratory" - This engaging simulation featured experiments revolving around fundamental themes such as wind, water, heat, and electricity. By exploring these theme-based experiments, the children built a foundation that would enhance their future learning in scientific principles. Relevant to Ebara's expertise, the program’s focus on water allowed children to ponder the mechanics of movement and energy.

2. Mathematics: "Boss Battle" - This collaborative content involved problem-solving exercises themed around spatial reasoning and planar shapes. Children from different grades worked together, sharing insights and strategies to take down a boss character, thus fostering communication and teamwork.

The children expressed their enjoyment with comments like:
  • - "The water experiment with Tecron was the most fun! It was hilarious when water stopped the fire! I also loved the ninja game!" (2nd grader)
  • - "Boss Battle was the best! Finding the shape at the end was super fun!" (3rd grader)

Insights from Ebara Corporation and Wonderfy

Ebara Corporation's Perspective

According to Setsuko Ishizuka from the Corporate Social Responsibility Division at Ebara Corporation, "Ebara Land" was initiated two years ago to support employees facing challenges in finding childcare during summer breaks. The feedback from employees has been overwhelmingly positive, and the initiative fosters a welcoming atmosphere for children, enriching the workplace.

With requests for programming content on the rise, Ebara sought collaboration with Wonderfy through Pasona Foster. The program’s structure allowed children of all grades to participate, keeping them engaged and focused throughout the two-hour session. Ishizuka noted, “It was remarkable to see even the younger children so enthralled that they forgot about taking breaks.”

Wonderfy's Reflection

The head of Wonderfy’s business division, Namiyoung Kim, expressed, “We are thrilled to provide children with STEAM education opportunities through Ebara Land. The children embraced the challenges, and it was incredible to witness their enthusiasm as they engaged with complex problems both independently and collaboratively. Active participation and discovery stand at the heart of STEAM education’s appeal.”

At Wonderfy, STEAM educational content can be tailored to various audiences based on age, group size, duration, and objectives. They aim to broaden future opportunities for children to recognize the joy of thinking critically and creatively.
