Huawei Elevates Healthcare with Digital Intelligence at MWC 2025

During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, held in Barcelona, Huawei presented groundbreaking solutions aimed at enhancing healthcare services through digital intelligence. Dr. Peter Zhou, Vice President of Huawei and President of the Data Storage Product Line, opened the session with a compelling discussion on the company's strategy of continuous data release and value creation. He introduced innovative products like the multimodal convergent data lake and DCS AI, which are poised to elevate healthcare AI capabilities significantly.

Wind Li, Vice President and General Manager of Huawei's Global Government Business Unit, highlighted Huawei's extensive contributions, having supported over 5,600 medical institutions across more than 110 countries. Li emphasized the company's commitment to bolstering digital and intelligent transformation in healthcare, accelerating scenario innovations and AI convergence to support global health initiatives.

Renowned expert Hong-Eng Koh discussed the immense potential of AI in healthcare during his keynote address. Koh noted that AI could dramatically enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce physician workload, and provide more personalized treatment options for patients, thereby revolutionizing healthcare delivery.

In a collaborative effort to ensure equitable healthcare access, Luis Santiago Sánchez Fernández, Technical Director of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS), presented the centralized HIS/EMR Diraya system. This system facilitates healthcare access for nearly 9 million residents, exemplifying the region's strategies for digital healthcare by 2030 and SAS's digital program for the next five years. Working with Huawei, SAS aims to achieve intelligent, humanized, efficient, and secure health services.

IT Director of Acibadem City Clinic in Bulgaria, Tsvetomir Nikolov, also shared insights on digital transformation in healthcare. He stressed the necessity of digital technologies in providing comprehensive patient services. Acibadem is collaborating with Huawei to develop an intelligent hospital campus and data centers, significantly improving data access for HIS/PACS/EMR solutions.

Feng Feng, Sales and Business Development Manager at KFBIO Europe, highlighted the effectiveness of AI-driven deep learning algorithms in assisting doctors with accurate diagnoses. KFBIO and Huawei have jointly developed an AI-based solution for pathology, significantly enhancing diagnostic precision and efficiency.
