Strengthening Financial Education: BAV and Vantage Foundation Unite for Strategic Partnership
On December 16, 2025, the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV) and the Vantage Foundation took a significant step towards enhancing financial education through a formal memorandum of understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership, celebrated in a ceremony held at BAV's headquarters in Hanoi, aims to collaborate on various educational initiatives, with plans set to commence by 2026.
The event brought together notable leaders and representatives from both institutions. The delegation from BAV included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hoang Anh, the Acting President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, the Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Dung, Director of the Banking Research Institute; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thang, Head of Human Resources. Vantage Foundation was represented by Adam Siew, Vice President for Business Development; Floyd Wang, Chief Representative in Vietnam; and Monica Wang, Head of Global Projects.
The ceremony commenced with a formal reception, introducing the delegates to each other, followed by introductory videos that showcased the missions and institutional strengths of both the BAV and Vantage. These presentations established the context for a partnership based on shared priorities in education, capacity building, and the long-term development of human capital.
In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hoang Anh reiterated BAV's commitment to collaborating with global partners to enhance the academic quality and practical relevance of financial education. Following her address, Adam Siew highlighted the growing importance of education in preparing future talent for an increasingly data-driven and technology-oriented financial sector. He emphasized that education is critical for sustainable development, especially as artificial intelligence and data analysis reshape financial decision-making.
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal signing of the strategic cooperation agreement, which officially confirmed the partnership between the two institutions. The MoU outlines specific areas of collaboration, including the joint development of educational programs, mobilization of international expertise and resources, and coordinated communication efforts to promote the value of financial education.
As an initial program concept under this partnership, BAV and Vantage plan to collaborate on a one-day training session titled "Financial Data Analysis and Decision-Making in the Era of AI," targeting completion by the end of February to early March 2026. This session will be conducted in person at BAV's Hanoi campus, with options for online participation available to other cities. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate, and the program is expected to expand through collaboration with other leading universities in Vietnam.
The ceremony concluded with a symbolic exchange of flowers and commemorative gifts, an official group photo, and networking among representatives. This event served as a public announcement of their strategic partnership and did not yet include course offerings, training sessions, or student activities.
