A Spotlight on Women Entrepreneurs: Preparing for the eosera Foundation Pitch Competition
The business world has witnessed a remarkable rise in women entrepreneurs, and nowhere is this more prominent than at the upcoming eosera® Foundation Pitch Competition. Slated for November 13th at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, this competition not only showcases the talents of innovative women but also offers them a chance to secure significant funding – a whopping $42,500 in seed money for the winners.
A Platform for Change
In its fourth year, the eosera Foundation Pitch Competition has a definitive goal: to reshape the entrepreneurial landscape by empowering female founders who often face hurdles in accessing venture capital. According to Elyse Stoltz Dickerson, the CEO of eosera®, less than two percent of venture capital funding makes it to women-led businesses. For the finalists, this competition isn't just about the money; it's about validation and opportunity.
“This competition exists to give women an opportunity for funding that might change the path of their venture, just like it did for me,” Dickerson explained, noting how her journey began with a pitch competition that started eosera® and transformed it into a multi-million dollar business.
Meet the Finalists
This year’s competition features three outstanding finalists:
- - Annika Lundstrom from ReMinded
- - Cherie Turner from Mommy Scrubs
- - Joanna Shu from Cartwheel
Each of these entrepreneurs brings a unique perspective and mission to their business. For Cherie Turner, being selected as a finalist is recognition of her commitment to supporting breastfeeding moms. “It validates not just my product, but my mission to empower breastfeeding moms in scrubs to balance work and motherhood with confidence,” she shared.
The Competition Format
Finalists will present their business pitches live to a panel of judges, with each having just eight minutes to impress both the judges and the audience. The event will kick off with a happy hour at 5:00 PM, where attendees can network, followed by the live pitches starting at 7:00 PM. The live audience will also play a role in the competition, as they can vote for the People’s Choice Award, adding another layer to this already exhilarating event.
As Annika Lundstrom from ReMinded stated, “Every pitch reinforces why we do this. To move one step closer to improving the lives of millions affected by stress-related disorders.” The excitement is palpable among the finalists, as they prepare not just to compete for cash prizes but to share their vision and purpose-driven work with the world.
Cash Prizes Await
Four cash prizes are up for grabs, including a first-place award of $30,000, a second-place prize of $5,500, and a third-place winner receiving $2,500. Yet, the true value of this competition lies not only in the cash but in the support and encouragement it provides to women starting their entrepreneurial journeys. As Joanna Shu expressed, winning would be both an inspiration and an affirmation that they're on the right path.
Join the Movement
The eosera Foundation Pitch Competition is set to draw over 200 guests eager to witness the potential birth of the next big business. Interested attendees can grab free event tickets online, and they stand a chance to win a gift basket valued at $2,500.
As the date approaches, anticipation builds. Will these talented women add their names to the list of successful female entrepreneurs who have benefited from this incredible opportunity? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: this competition is a significant leap towards elevating female entrepreneurs and changing the business world as we know it.
