Ottobock and Texas Parasport Games Collaborate to Support the Amputee Community

Empowering the Local Amputee Community through Movement

On April 26, 2025, the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas witnessed a momentous occasion as Ottobock North America partnered with the Texas Parasport Games to host the Full Circle Movement event. This gathering, celebrated during Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, aimed to foster movement, connection, and empowerment amongst individuals living with limb loss or limb differences.

The event took place at Heroes Stadium, drawing a diverse crowd of over 70 participants and volunteers of all ages and mobility levels. Attendees were provided with valuable resources and coaching designed to enhance their balance, confidence, and mobility. This initiative was powered by expert prosthetists, physical therapists, and adaptive sports coaches, all dedicated to uplifting the local amputee community.

During the Full Circle Movement, participants had the unique opportunity to test Ottobock's cutting-edge sports prostheses, including specialized running blades, during personalized fitting sessions. Lucas Crisanti, a Clinical Specialist at Ottobock, emphasized the core mission of this event, stating, "Full Circle Movement is all about giving people the tools and encouragement to reclaim their confidence. We are proud to provide a space where individuals living with limb loss and limb difference can come together, connect, and discover what's possible."

The day's activities went beyond just physical movement. Participants engaged in adaptive sessions and group activities that promoted camaraderie and community. The partnership with Texas Parasport Games amplified the essence of friendly competition and inclusivity, cementing San Antonio's standing as a hub for adaptive sports opportunities.

Dan and Bonnie, two participants who attended the event, shared their heartfelt gratitude, saying, "Thank you to Ottobock for coordinating this weekend's Full Circle Movement event. Everyone—from staff and clinicians to physical therapists—did an incredible job. They were knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and gave us the confidence to keep moving forward. We are sincerely grateful for Ottobock's continued support and commitment to our community."

This initiative is part of Ottobock's broader dedication to adaptive sports and their long-standing commitment to create opportunities for individuals with mobility challenges.
