Envision Launches First Commercial Shipment of Green Ammonia to South Korea

Envision's Groundbreaking Shipment of Green Ammonia to South Korea

In a remarkable stride towards sustainable energy, Envision Energy has made waves in the global market by initiating the first commercial shipment of green ammonia from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, to LOTTE Fine Chemical, a prominent chemical firm in South Korea. This event is not only a significant milestone for Envision but also marks a pivotal moment in the transition to clean energy solutions worldwide.

The cargo, which comprises green ammonia, originated from Envision's groundbreaking facility in Chifeng, recognized as the largest production site for green hydrogen and green ammonia globally. By harnessing a fully renewable energy-powered system, the plant integrates advanced physical AI technology to merge solar and wind energy, creating a stable supply stream essential for ammonia synthesis. This innovative approach underscores the firm's commitment to green technology and environmental sustainability.

Yimin Lou, Senior Executive and Product Leader at Envision Energy, remarked, "This vessel carries more than just ammonia—it embodies our commitment to a sustainable future." He added that with this successful journey, Envision has shown that the supply chain for green ammonia is not merely theoretical but a tangible reality. Exploiting the vast renewable resources of the Gobi Desert, Envision aims to supply the global market with CO2-free fuels, starting with its partners in South Korea.

In a statement, Seung Won Chung, CEO of LOTTE Fine Chemical, highlighted the global attention this shipment is drawing, stating that it exceeds corporate and national borders. He described this historic achievement as the foundation for establishing a comprehensive supply chain for green hydrogen and ammonia, which is poised to play a crucial role in addressing the climate crisis through a shift to carbon-free energy.

At present, Envision has a production capacity of 320,000 tons of green ammonia annually, having commenced exports in the fourth quarter of 2025. The company’s ambitious plans include ramping up production to 1.5 million tons per year by 2028, positioning its facility as a benchmark for clean industrial centers globally. The green ammonia produced by Envision has received leading certifications, adhering to stringent industry standards, such as ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, and RFNBO compliance.

To enhance the efficiency of the hydrogen conversion process from wind energy to green molecules, Envision implements proprietary AI technology that maximizes reliability and output. This aligns with the broader push for sustainable practices within the energy sector.

This monumental initiative was highlighted at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, where it was presented as a case study in the WEF White Paper titled “From Blueprint to Reality: Delivering a Stronger Business Case for Energy Infrastructure.” This recognition positions Envision as a leading figure in the global transition to carbon-free industrial practices.

In conclusion, Envision’s pioneering shipment of green ammonia not only sets a precedent in the green energy landscape but also exemplifies the potential of integrating cutting-edge technology with sustainable practices. As the world continues to grapple with climate change, initiatives like this are essential in shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future.
