High School Students Present Innovative Ideas Using LOVOT Robot for a Better Future

Transforming Future with LOVOT: Ideas from High School Students

In a remarkable display of creativity and innovation, high school students have recently taken the stage to present their ideas on how the family-type robot, LOVOT, developed by GROOVE X, can address pressing social issues. This event, held as part of the LOVOT Utilization Idea Contest 2025, aimed to encourage students to identify societal problems and propose solutions through the unique capabilities of LOVOT.

Introducing LOVOT: A Family Robot

LOVOT is a revolutionary robot that behaves much like a pet. It approaches when called, displays emotions by gazing and seeking cuddles, and feels warm to the touch, which creates a lifelike essence that resonates with people. Beyond its charming features, LOVOT is also designed to be integrated into various environments, including homes, offices, medical facilities, and care centers, emphasizing its potential in mental health care.

Scheduled for widespread educational use starting in August 2024, the new LOVOT Education Plan aims to enhance communication within schools and stimulate students' interest in AI and programming.

The Contest Overview

The LOVOT Utilization Idea Contest encouraged high school students to explore issues and propose solutions utilizing LOVOT's unique capabilities. Students underwent preliminary document assessments before proceeding to the main presentations on August 20, 2025, at the LOVOT MUSEUM, where four schools, comprising twelve students, showcased their innovative solutions.

At the end of the day, Daisuke Shimazaki and Katsumi Arvin from Hamamatsu Seisei High School took home the grand prize. Their project focused on utilizing LOVOT as a reading companion for children suffering from selective mutism, demonstrating a deep understanding of the social challenges faced by these children.

As more educational institutions adopt the LOVOT robot, the potential for transformative educational practices and student engagement continues to grow.

As Hiroshi Hayashi, the CEO of GROOVE X, noted in his reflections about the event, the real value lies in the experiences and insights gained.
