His previous experience includes serving as an epidemiologist and as the Assistant Director for Public Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where he contributed significantly to food safety initiatives.

He earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and holds multiple advanced degrees, including an MBA from the Panamerican Institute and a Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine. Furthermore, he completed his doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of California at Davis, positioning him as a highly knowledgeable leader in the field.
