Sarah Conway Joins Ashland Place as Director
In a strategic move to bolster its presence in the European aviation market, Ashland Place Finance LLC has announced the appointment of Sarah Conway as its new Director. With over 16 years of experience in the aviation industry, Conway brings a wealth of knowledge in both aircraft leasing and lending to the team at Ashland Place.
Before joining Ashland Place, Conway held significant roles in various prestigious institutions. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Aviation Finance at Hamburg Commercial Bank. Her background also includes her tenure as Senior Vice President at Deucalion Aviation Limited, where she was instrumental in originating transactions, maintaining relationships with lessors, and managing global banking relationships. Her extensive experience in senior roles at both MUFG Bank and DVB Bank SE, both based in London, further cements her status as an industry expert.
Conway’s involvement doesn't stop at financing; she's also a prominent figure in organizations dedicated to advancing the aviation sector. As a Board member of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), she plays an active role in committees that shape the future of the aviation finance landscape.
The Executive Director and Group Head of Ashland Place, Jennifer Villa, expressed her enthusiasm about Conway's arrival. “Sarah's expertise will significantly enhance our ability to engage with clients and partners across Europe,” she stated. “Her successful track record and connections within the aviation industry will be invaluable as we look to expand our operations and deepen our relationships.”
This appointment comes at a pivotal time for Ashland Place, as the company recently announced a series of strategic milestones, including the pricing of its second aviation loan asset-backed securitization. In the last quarter, they completed a notable financing facility for Flight Lease and a four-aircraft transaction with Fortress Investment Group and GOAL Aircraft Leasing.
Greg Feldman, Partner at Davidson Kempner, echoed Jennifer Villa’s sentiments, emphasizing that Conway's addition is timely given the evolving dynamics of the aviation industry. “Her expertise will ensure that Ashland Place is well-equipped to address the growing demands of the market,” he mentioned.
Reflecting on her new role, Sarah Conway stated, “Joining Ashland Place during this dynamic phase is a true honor. I have long respected what Jennifer and her team have achieved since the company’s inception four years ago, and I am looking forward to contributing to their continued success.”
As Conway sets her base in London, her mission will be to strategically position Ashland Place to seize opportunities in a vibrant and active market. In the competitive landscape of aviation finance, her rich background and industry connections are expected to provide the company with a significant advantage as it navigates future challenges and growth avenues.
Overall, Conway’s appointment marks a significant chapter for Ashland Place as it aims to expand its footprint and adapt to the ever-changing needs of the aviation financing sector. The commitment from the leadership team, combined with Conway’s expertise, sets a promising trajectory for the organization’s future endeavors and collaborations.
