Embloom Selected for ASAC's Pre-Seed Program
Embloom Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has been selected to participate in the third phase of the Tokyo metropolitan government’s Aoyama Startup Acceleration Center (ASAC) Pre-Seed Program. This initiative was highly competitive, with 153 applicants vying for the opportunity; ultimately, only ten companies were chosen. Through this intensive three-month program running from July to September 2026, Embloom aims to accelerate the practical application and growth of its innovative service, which uses artificial intelligence to support the verification of documents related to residency status applications for foreign employees.
About ASAC Pre-Seed Program
The Aoyama Startup Acceleration Center (ASAC) was established by the Tokyo government to nurture leading companies that can proudly represent Tokyo on a global stage. This Pre-Seed Program is designed for entrepreneurs tackling significant policy challenges or venturing into areas less favored by investors. It provides concentrated growth support tailored specifically for such ventures.
In this current third phase, Embloom was notably selected for its AI service focused on verifying the authenticity and consistency of residency status documents. This recognition emphasizes the critical relevance of their work in a rapidly changing workforce environment.
Growing Need for Document Verification
As of October 2023, over 2.57 million foreign workers reside in Japan, marking a historic high (according to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Employment Situation Report). Despite this increase, the verification of residency documents remains largely a manual process, often taking several hours as staff meticulously cross-check a variety of documents. This can lead to significant burdens on personnel, inconsistencies in judgment, and challenges in combatting sophisticated forgery.
Embloom's service is designed to alleviate these pressures. By collating and analyzing the documentation, the service identifies inconsistencies and potential forgeries, alerting users to areas that warrant further verification. Importantly, AI does not make the final judgment; the human operator retains ultimate control over decision-making.
Currently, Embloom is in the development and validation phase of this service, which is expected to roll out soon. For further details and information about becoming a validation partner, refer to the press release titled *
