Enhancing Tokyo Midtown's Summer with Sustainable Contributions from Takaramoto Corporation

A Vibrant Summer at Tokyo Midtown

From July 18 to August 31, 2025, Tokyo Midtown in Minato, Akasaka will host the spectacular event, 'MIDTOWN SUMMER 2025', highlighted by two unique content features: 'HIMAWARI MID GARDEN' and 'Natsuzora Furin'. Takaramoto Corporation, based in Kyoto and led by CEO Ryugo Takaramoto, is proud to be a material contributor, providing upcycled ribbons made from dead stock.

The centerpiece, the 'HIMAWARI MID GARDEN', will bloom with around 2,000 artificial sunflowers adorned with colorful ribbons, creating a stunning photo opportunity. The 'Natsuzora Furin' will feature wind chimes paired with these ribbons to evoke a refreshing summer ambiance typical of Japan. This event is not just a feast for the eyes but also an experience that embodies a colorful Japanese summer scene.

By utilizing dead stock materials from the manufacturing and distribution processes, Takaramoto aims to reduce environmental impact and promote effective resource use, aligning with Mitsui Fudosan Group’s philosophy of 'co-existence, co-habitation, and co-creation', which emphasizes environmental co-existence and sustainable urban development.

The event will also include other engaging initiatives such as 'ASHIMIZU', where participants can soak their feet in a flowing stream to enjoy the summer breeze, and the community-involved 'Roppongi Water Sprinkling Big Operation'.

Takaramoto Corporation has a history of contributing to notable displays, such as the 'Midosuji Illumination' and 'JO1 Exhibition “JO1 in Wonderland!”' using ribbons and fabric solutions. Lately, the company has focused on utilizing dead stock effectively and developing upcycled materials to foster a resource-circulating society while minimizing environmental impact.

The mission of Takaramoto is to be more than just a supplier of decorative materials. With the belief that 'ribbons weave joy', the company aims to play a significant role in creating a sustainable city where people, communities, and nature harmoniously coexist. Through continuous development and provision of materials that add color and warmth to various settings, Takaramoto is committed to building a rich environment for future generations and contributing to a sustainable society.
