On March 14, 2025, Alice P. Frazier, renowned President and CEO of BCT-Bank of Charles Town, was elected as the Chairman-elect of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) for the term 2025-2026. This significant announcement was made during the ICBA LIVE event held in Nashville, Tennessee, marking a notable moment for both Frazier and the community banking sector.
Frazier expressed her excitement, stating, "I'm ecstatic for this opportunity to stand up for our nation's community banks as ICBA chairman-elect." She emphasized that community banks thrive on relationship-based banking, which is pivotal for fostering the economic success of the areas they serve. Her leadership is expected to advance ICBA's advocacy efforts, driving innovation and educational opportunities for community banks across the nation.
In her extensive career at ICBA, Frazier holds various influential roles, including membership on the ICBA Executive Committee, board of directors, Federal Delegate Board, as well as Policy and Nominating Committees. Her dedication also extends to the Minority Bank Advisory Council and the Safety and Soundness Subcommittee, among others. Notably, she has previously served as the secretary of the ICBA Executive Committee from 2019 to 2021.
Beyond her responsibilities at ICBA, Frazier is an active participant at the local level, serving on the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond Board. She is also a former chairman of the Virginia Association of Community Banks and currently holds the position of treasurer at both the WVU East Hospital System and the Loudoun Economic Development Authority.
Jack Hopkins, the current ICBA Chairman, commended Frazier, stating, "Alice is one of the most dedicated advocates for community banking, and I'm excited that she's helping to guide our industry." Her expertise and the respect she has earned within the community banking sector make her a valuable asset on ICBA's Executive Committee, especially as the organization continues to push for impactful changes in Washington.
Since its inception, ICBA has been committed to promoting the interests of community banks and savings institutions across the country. Frazier’s leadership is expected to enhance community banks' ability to provide high-tech and high-touch banking services to consumers, ensuring that they remain competitive amid rising challenges in the financial landscape.
