New Omiya Center Opens with a Focus on Environment and Accessibility

On May 26, 2026, Palsystem Saitama, led by Chairperson Yoshiko Nishinouchi, celebrated the completion and opening of the new Omiya Center located in Saitama City, specifically in the Omiya Ward. The ceremony took place from 10 AM to 1 PM and marked a significant milestone in the establishment of a delivery hub that emphasizes consideration for both the environment and the community.

The Omiya Center is a state-of-the-art facility constructed with sustainable practices in mind, utilizing local timber and featuring a barrier-free design to accommodate all individuals. Development included a total green coverage of over 47% of the property, showcasing a commitment to environmental preservation and enhanced aesthetics. The design was managed by MAJIMA Architectural Firm from Inagi City, Tokyo, while construction was carried out by Shimamura Industries based in Kawajima Town, Saitama.

A Center for the Community

The completion ceremony featured special guests from the Miyahara Shrine, who offered prayers for the safety of the employees working in the new center. Additionally, Chairperson Nishinouchi expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including the architects and construction teams. The opening festivities included a traditional ribbon-cutting and a tree-planting ceremony that highlighted a symbolic gesture for peace using saplings from Hiroshima’s bomb survivor trees, ensuring that the memory of events from 81 years ago remains alive in the community.

Beginning June 29, 2026, the Omiya Center is set to initiate delivery services to approximately 20,000 registered households in certain districts of Saitama City. This significant expansion aims to enhance the lives of local residents through improved accessibility to quality products and services.

The architectural design of the Omiya Center consists of two main buildings:
  • - Warehouse: A single-story steel structure with a total floor area of 1,793.60 square meters, dedicated to the storage and distribution of goods.
  • - Office Building: A two-story steel structure with a total floor area of 761.56 square meters, designed to provide a comfortable working environment for staff.

Alongside its structural features, the center boasts several eco-friendly initiatives, such as a rooftop garden and dedicated EV charging stations to support the growing use of electric vehicles among delivery fleets. This forward-thinking approach underscores a respect for nature and a commitment to reducing the carbon footprint.
