Members 1st Federal Credit Union Achieves Recognitions

Enola, PA – Members 1st Federal Credit Union has proudly received the 2026 Leaders in Financial Literacy Award from the CrossState Credit Union Foundation. This award acknowledges the credit union's impactful contribution to enhancing financial literacy within its community and organization.

The recognition was specifically awarded for its innovative Fraud Awareness initiative, which was created in collaboration with consumer advocate Mary Bach. This initiative seeks to empower individuals to identify and avoid financial scams before falling victim to them. By blending in-person outreach with digital education, Members 1st has successfully educated many about the risks of fraud.

A Comprehensive Approach

The initiative stands out for its practical approach, encompassing real-life scenarios that help participants feel more prepared and confident in managing their finances. The dual-method strategy bolstered outreach efforts by enhancing online educational resources, ensuring comprehensive learning experiences. The credit union aims to foster informed communities, highlighting the importance of proactive measures in financial education.

Celebrating Employee Innovations

In addition to this prestigious recognition, team member Alyssa Eisenhart, who serves as the Learning Strategy and Development Analyst, was named a top ten finalist in the Credit Union Ambassador Contest. Her project, titled Journey Mapping, emphasized improving the associate experience by unveiling insights about their interactions and emotions over time in the organization.

This project employed various methodologies, including interviews and surveys, to gain a nuanced understanding of associates' experiences during critical career milestones. By identifying opportunities for improvement, the initiative aims to enhance onboarding processes and training, maximizing professional growth opportunities within the credit union.

Eisenhart’s work was presented during the CrossState Connect Annual Convention, where her innovative approach to enhancing the workplace was met with enthusiasm from peers and industry professionals.

Leadership Perspectives

Michael Wilson, the President and CEO of Members 1st Federal Credit Union, shared his pride regarding these accolades, stating, “Both recognitions really speak to who we are and what we believe in. Financial literacy is about giving people the confidence to make decisions, plan for their future and feel in control of their lives, not just their finances.” He further emphasized the ongoing commitment of the Members 1st team to enhance community wellbeing through financial education.

Wilson took a moment to specifically applaud Eisenhart for her outstanding contributions, illustrating the credit union's dedication not only to its members but also to nurturing talent from within its organization.
