Ucoop's Innovative Delivery Solution

In a significant response to the needs of its members, the Yucoop Cooperative, based in Yokohama, Kanagawa, has rolled out a new delivery service called 'Smart Delivery Service' in collaboration with Linough Co., Ltd., effective from March 2, 2026. This new initiative allows secure delivery of packages to residences even when the recipient is not at home, particularly within auto-lock apartment complexes.

Background of Implementation

Historically, Yucoop has offered a 'contactless drop-off' service, but members residing in auto-lock apartments faced difficulties regarding delivery when they were not at home. This challenge sometimes led potential users to forgo membership entirely. Existing members also reported struggles, such as needing to cancel orders or avoid using the service if they anticipated being out during scheduled delivery times. Recognizing these issues, Yucoop aimed to enhance convenience while ensuring security in package delivery. Thus, the introduction of Linough's Smart Delivery Service became a viable solution.

About Smart Delivery Service

The Smart Delivery Service utilizes a smart lock system known as 'NinjaEntrance' to digitalize access to the shared entrances of auto-lock apartment buildings. With this system, authorized delivery personnel can unlock the doors, securely delivering packages to a predetermined location at each residence. One of the major benefits includes the comprehensive logging of all access events, enhancing security while ensuring that property managers and owners face no additional financial burden for the integration of this service.
