Record-Breaking Auction of Hokusai's Masterpiece

At one point, the bidding surpassed 300 million yen, resulting in a brief silence, which then evolved into fierce competition among attendees, culminating in the prestigious bid being won by a collector present at the auction. This record-breaking sale not only surpassed last March's Christie’s auction price of 3,559,000 dollars (approximately 531 million yen) for Hokusai’s "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji" but also established a new pinnacle for Hokusai's works in the art market, drawing significant attention both domestically and internationally.
