MetLife Life Insurance Partners with Nagoya Oceans
MetLife Life Insurance, represented by CEO Dirk Osteen, is collaborating with the Nagoya Oceans, a member of the Japan Futsal League (F League), to conduct the "Nagoya Oceans/AIFA Women's Futsal Co-Creation Project supported by MetLife" from August 17 to August 19, 2026. This initiative aims to support approximately 270 female futsal players from junior high school to university, enhancing their skills while also providing essential financial education.
Background and Objectives
MetLife's mission is to foresee and shape a more confident future for individuals, encapsulated by their purpose statement: "Moving forward together toward a more certain future." In its second year of partnership with the F League, MetLife is committed to not only supporting the league but also collaborating with regional clubs and organizations to execute co-creation projects.
Recognizing that young athletes need more than just technical skills to succeed, the program will also focus on teaching life planning and foundational financial knowledge. MetLife intends to leverage its expertise in future planning and financial literacy to help these athletes grow both in their sport and in their understanding of personal finance.
Research conducted as part of MetLife's annual nationwide survey revealed that many people are concerned about future financial stability and asset formation. Additionally, a survey of 49 female F League players indicated a strong interest in learning about personal finance and future planning.
Moving forward, MetLife plans to not only support athletic endeavors but also empower individual players to think critically about their futures and make choices with confidence.
