Valtech's Face Recognition System Upgrade
Valtech, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is excited to announce the upgrade of its local face recognition system, "facet on-premises," slated for release on April 1, 2026. This upgrade introduces a new feature allowing users to print authentication data directly linked with facial recognition, including ticket and supplementary information, to streamline various operational scenarios.
Background of the Upgrade
The "facet on-premises" system operates within an internal network, minimizing the risk of personal data, such as facial images, being exposed externally. This heightened security feature differentiates it from cloud-based solutions. Previously, the system offered API integration with various devices like automatic doors, entry gates, and attendance management systems. This upgrade focuses on enhancing user efficiency and expanding the functional use cases of the system.
New Features of the Upgrade
1. Printer Integration
With the addition of printer integration, the system now supports direct print output of authentication details and supplementary information. A new "Printer Integration" tab has been added to the management console, allowing users to edit print content, preview outputs, and conduct test prints. This feature automates many tasks, such as ticket printing at events and issuance of reception slips upon entry. Currently, the only compatible printer is the Epson "TM-T88VII," but more options are planned to be introduced.
2. Enhanced User Interface
The management console has undergone a redesign to improve usability. Frequently used management tabs like "Server" and "facet" have been moved to the left sidebar, allowing for a more intuitive navigation experience that aligns with natural eye movement. This change facilitates smoother changes to settings and status checks, promoting overall system efficiency.
Key Features of "facet on-premises"
- - High Security in Local Operations: Personal data, such as facial recognition data, remains secure within the corporate network, providing better security compared to cloud versions.
- - Fast and Accurate Recognition: With a facial recognition rate exceeding 99% and nearly instantaneous identification (about one second), the system efficiently manages large group access.
- - Rich API Integration: Face recognition enables automating attendance check-ins and access permissions at various entry points.

Potential Applications
- - Event and Seminar Management: The system can print authentication data and seating information for registered attendees in real time, facilitating smoother entry processes. Successful implementation has previously been witnessed at the company's 34th annual meeting.
- - 24/7 Fitness Clubs: In gym environments with no staff present, facial recognition not only grants access but also prints locker information and usage time records for clients.
- - Non-contact Patient Check-ins at Clinics: The system allows automatic issuance of reception slips and guidance documentation alongside fever detection and identification, promoting a smooth and hygienic patient intake process.
- - Access Logging in Offices and Facilities: It generates access slips or temporary entry passes on other security measures during access attempts, based on authority levels.
Launch Date
This upgraded version of the system will officially release on April 1, 2026.
