Beko's 2025 Integrated Report: A Commitment to Sustainability and Progress
Beko, a renowned home appliance manufacturer, has recently detailed its achievements in the 2025 Integrated Report, further affirming its commitment to sustainability and commercial responsibility. This report not only documents financial performance but also emphasizes the company's environmental initiatives and social impacts over the previous year. A major highlight is Beko's third consecutive recognition from TIME Magazine as one of the World's Most Sustainable Companies, maintaining the number one spot in its industry. This accolade comes from a stringent evaluation process that looks at over 5,000 companies worldwide, confirming Beko's commitment to enhancing sustainability across its entire operation.
Significant Achievements in Sustainability
The report reveals several key outcomes from Beko's sustainability efforts. In 2025, the company successfully executed energy efficiency programs across its manufacturing sites, achieving energy savings of 69,562 gigajoules (GJ). These initiatives contributed to avoiding approximately 5,297 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) emissions – a substantial step in reducing its carbon footprint.
Furthermore, Beko has made impressive strides in waste management, boasting a remarkable recycling rate of 98.6% across all manufacturing facilities, aimed at reaching a target of 99%. In addition, renewable energy installations saw a growth in total capacity from 90.2 MWp to 96 MWp, demonstrating Beko's shift towards greener energy sources. As part of its broader initiative to achieve 100% green electricity in its manufacturing by 2030, Beko reached 63.5% of its total energy consumption from renewable sources.
Water conservation was another focal point highlighted in the report, with projects dedicated to water efficiency and rainwater harvesting resulting in savings of 219,114 cubic meters across various locations. This illustrates Beko’s integrated approach to resource management and environmental stewardship.
Transformation of Manufacturing Practices
Behind these impressive figures is a significant transformation within Beko's manufacturing processes. The company has three facilities recognized in the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network, with the Ulmi plant earning the distinguished title of Sustainability Lighthouse. These accomplishments signify Beko's dedication to low-impact production techniques, which are being adopted in its broader manufacturing ecosystem.
Currently, Beko operates 13 smart factories worldwide, utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics. The company aims to expand this number to 17 by the end of 2026, reflecting its commitment to modernization and improved operational efficiency.
Moreover, Beko has established refurbishment centers, managing to reintegrate over 148,000 appliances back into the marketplace throughout 2025. The company has been proactive in recycling efforts, having recycled nearly 1.98 million units of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) since 2014, and incorporating 31,665 tonnes of recycled plastics in product manufacturing.
A Growing Portfolio of Sustainable Products
Financially, Beko has capitalized on the growing demand for environmentally friendly appliances, with 72.6% of its turnover in 2025 deriving from low-carbon products. This reflects a significant market trend towards energy-efficient and eco-conscious home appliances. As Can Dinçer, CEO of Beko, stated, 'Being recognized by TIME three years in a row highlights that sustainability is a foundational part of Beko's business.'
As the world anticipates the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31), companies like Beko are emphasizing transparent reporting and measurable progress in sustainability. Dinçer emphasized the importance of action over mere declarations, asserting that what matters is tangible progress.
Looking Ahead with Transparency
In conjunction with the Integrated Report, Beko has also released a TSRS-compliant sustainability report, aligning with Türkiye’s adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This sustainability report includes thorough disclosures relating to the company’s climate-related risks, governance structures, opportunities, and overall strategy.
With a workforce of around 45,000 and operations in over 55 countries, Beko stands as one of Europe's largest home appliance companies. The newly published report not only underscores Beko’s extensive research and design capabilities, with over 4,500 patents filed, but also reaffirms the company’s vision of 'Respecting the World, Respected Worldwide.' Beko’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation positions it as a leader in the industry, setting benchmarks for others to follow.
