Celebrating Excellence: Clark Atlanta University's 2025 Commencement Week



As the academic year comes to a close, Clark Atlanta University (CAU) is excited to announce its 2025 Commencement Week—a vibrant tribute to academic achievement. This year, nearly 800 students are set to graduate, culminating in a spectacular commencement ceremony that draws over 6,000 attendees, family, friends, and community members.

A Time for Celebration



The week-long festivities will kick off with a variety of events designed to honor the accomplishments of the graduates. Dr. George T. French, Jr., the university’s president, conveyed the importance of this milestone: “Commencement week represents an earned milestone in higher education, where we, the faculty and staff of Clark Atlanta University, honor the extraordinary accomplishments of our graduates.” These words reflect the pride the institution takes in shaping leaders who will impact their communities positively.

Key Events



The highlight of Commencement Week is the Commencement ceremony held on May 18, 2025, at the GSU Convocation Center. This ticketed event will start at 10 a.m., with public access available from 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will feature Dr. Dennis Kimbro as the keynote speaker, a renowned educator and best-selling author known for his insights on leadership and success.

Before the main event, the Baccalaureate Service on May 17 at 10 a.m. will acknowledge the spiritual journey of graduates. Rev. Dr. Brian Tillman will lead this interdenominational service, emphasizing faith coupled with academic achievement.
