Be My Guest: The Peak Episode
Guizhou, a stunning province located in southwestern China, is renowned for its diverse landscapes, featuring pristine plateaus, towering mountains, rolling hills, and extensive basins. Dubbed the "Heaven of Myriad Mountains," Guizhou's natural beauty includes impressive karst formations, serene highland lakes, deep gorges, cascading waterfalls, and fascinating sinkholes. This unique combination makes it a paradise for mountain tourism and outdoor enthusiasts.
In a new short video series titled "Be My Guest: Focus Guizhou," produced by Guizhou Satellite TV and the International Communication Center of Guizhou Radio and Television Station, the essence of this vibrant region is artfully captured through the lenses of international photographers. This particular episode features Ivan Mendelevich, a skilled photographer and motorcycle lover from Argentina, who joins his friend Wang Menghan for an exciting adventure across Guizhou.
Their journey kicks off in the Wanfenglin Scenic Area located in Xingyi. Here, they navigate the awe-inspiring karst peaks on motorcycles, allowing the refreshing wind to rush past them. The area is historically significant, as Xu Xiake, a legendary explorer and travel writer from the Ming dynasty, once remarked, "Peaks abound across the world, but only here do they form a forest."
Ivan's adventure continues as he takes to the skies, paragliding over Wanfenglin. From above, the mesmerizing landscape unfolds beneath him, showcasing the natural splendor of this iconic site. They then visit the Xingyi Guizhou Dragon Fossil In-Situ Protection Museum to uncover remnants of ancient marine life, including fossils of the Guizhou Ichthyosaur, which roamed 200 million years ago. The knowledgeable museum guide shares insights into the rich geological history of the region, enhancing their understanding of Guizhou's past.
The duo wraps up their captivating journey at Mount Fanjing, where Ivan captures stunning images of a star-studded sky complemented by the gentle hues of dawn. At the Mount Fanjing Wildlife Rescue Center, he has the chance to meet the rare Guizhou golden monkey, an endangered species and a national treasure often referred to as the "special, and only child of the Earth." These remarkable monkeys thrive in the unspoiled forests that blanket the mountainous terrain.
Expressing his admiration for Guizhou, Ivan states, "Guizhou has truly amazed me! Next time, I will come back together with my family and friends to discover more landscapes of the region." This exhilarating journey has not only sated his thirst for adventure but has also instilled a desire to experience Guizhou's beauty again, highlighting the province's unique charm and character.
This adventure does not just showcase Guizhou's landscapes but also captures the essence of exploration, friendship, and the thrills of traveling to the unknown.
