Promoting Wood Utilization in Construction
On January 22, a significant agreement was formalized between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of the Environment, and our company, aimed at advocating the use of wood in architecture for the realization of a decarbonized and nature-friendly society. The agreement highlights the three parties' commitment to fostering active collaboration in wood utilization.
Key Highlights of the Agreement
The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Agriculture, where notable representatives such as Yoshitaro Kosaka, the head of the Forestry Agency, Haruhiko Nishimura, the Deputy Director-General of the Environmental Ministry, and our own President Taiji Ito were present. Both representatives expressed their optimism regarding widespread wood usage. Kosaka emphasized the hope that station buildings throughout the country would be filled with timber, while Nishimura highlighted the effective alignment of wood utilization with the Ministry's main focus areas: carbon neutrality, circular economy, and nature positivity. Ito echoed these sentiments, vowing to enhance cooperation with both ministries and firmly promote wood utilization.
