Sungrow and ENEVO Join Forces on Landmark 1GWh Energy Storage Initiative for Romania's Energy Transition
Sungrow and ENEVO’s Landmark Energy Storage Agreement
In a pioneering move towards energy sustainability, Sungrow, a global frontrunner in photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, has inked a historic agreement with ENEVO Group, a leading energy solutions provider in Romania. This collaboration sets in motion a series of energy storage projects totaling a remarkable capacity of 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh), underscoring the mutual commitment to advancing renewable energy integration across Europe.
The Agreement Breaking New Ground
The partnership officially commenced with an initial phase involving 440 megawatt-hours (MWh) ordered earlier this year, with expected delivery by December 2026. Following this, an additional 560 MWh is planned, bringing the grand total to over 1 GWh by the conclusion of all project phases. The energy storage systems developed under this agreement will utilize Sungrow's cutting-edge PowerTitan 2.0 battery energy storage system (BESS) featuring liquid cooling technology, ideal for large-scale grid support and renewable energy integration.
As the demand for reliable, safe, and flexible energy storage continues to rise across Europe, Sungrow is firmly positioned to lead the sector with its technologically advanced and fully financially supported ESS solutions. The successful deployment of the PowerTitan series in various large-scale projects around Europe—spanning countries like the UK, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Cyprus, and Bulgaria—demonstrates Sungrow's robust operational support and technological reliability.
A Vision for Sustainable Partnerships
Echoing the sentiment surrounding this collaboration, Radu Brașoveanu, Technical Director and co-founder of ENEVO Group, noted, "Transformative partnerships begin with shared vision, ambition, and a clear market direction. Our journey with Sungrow commenced in the solar sector and has evolved into a broader strategic alliance now encompassing battery storage. Together, we are accelerating the integration of BESS with renewable energy generation, fulfilling ENEVO's aspiration to become a leading EPC contractor for large-scale battery storage solutions in the region."
James Li, Vice President of Sungrow Europe, praised the trust and commitment from their partners, insisting that it is pivotal to their ongoing growth. He stated, "We are honored to collaborate with ENEVO on this 1GWh portfolio in Romania. Our team is dedicated to providing unmatched support to our clients at every stage, from design and delivery to commissioning and operation, ensuring the long-term success of these projects and the energy security of our partners."
This strategic agreement not only enhances Sungrow's standing as a highly bankable entity in the solar and energy storage sectors globally, as highlighted in BloombergNEF rankings but also solidifies its presence in one of Europe’s most dynamic energy storage markets.
