UnionPay International Sponsors THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary Tour in Paris

UnionPay International (UPI) recently played a pivotal role as the sponsor for the Paris leg of THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary Global Tour, organized by POP MART Europe. This collaboration aims to promote the growth of original designer toys in the European market while expanding UnionPay's cross-border payment solutions for cardholders worldwide.

The exhibition, located at the historic Hôtel du Grand Veneur in the Marais district (60 rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris), runs from March 4 to March 29, 2026. After making stops in Shanghai, Taipei, and Hong Kong, Paris serves as a significant milestone in this international tour.

Tickets for the exhibition are available at a reasonable price of €12 for adults, with children aged 10 to 17 charged €8, and free entry for kids under 10. The venue is conveniently accessible on foot from the Saint-Paul metro station (line 1), making it easy for visitors to enjoy the showcase of artistic transformations over the past decade in THE MONSTERS series, alongside exclusive LABUBU figurines available for purchase.

As a subsidiary of China UnionPay, UPI is committed to the development and operation of the brand's international activities. The organization focuses on creating a global payment network that enhances card acceptance, issuance, and innovative cross-border payment solutions. To date, UPI collaborates with over 2,600 institutions globally, allowing UnionPay cards to be used in 183 countries and regions. Outside mainland China, these cards can be utilized at over 80 million merchants and 1.8 million ATMs.

In France, UnionPay is actively improving its acceptance network and service capabilities. In 2025, UnionPay payments were accepted at more than 700,000 merchants across various sectors, including retail, dining, transport, hospitality, education, and leisure. Iconic establishments like Galeries Lafayette, Disneyland Paris, La Poste, G7 Taxi, and Monoprix supermarkets have embraced this payment method.

Additionally, UPI strengthens its cross-border financial services in France through partnerships with local institutions, particularly facilitating money transfers for overseas Chinese communities and enhancing economic exchanges between China and France.

On a broader European scale, UPI continues to expand its services, with more than 90% of countries and regions in Europe offering UnionPay options, and close to 80% of payment terminals being able to process UnionPay transactions. Moreover, over 6 million merchants throughout Europe are equipped to handle UnionPay Mobile QuickPass payments, allowing for a seamless transaction experience for international travelers and local residents alike.

As a prominent global capital of culture, art, and tourism, Paris presents numerous opportunities for consumer and cultural exchanges. By sponsoring THE MONSTERS exhibition, UnionPay International aligns with cultural and lifestyle leaders in Europe, further solidifying its brand presence on the continent and strengthening ties with merchants, partners, and consumers. This initiative aims to make payments more straightforward and secure for all involved.

Looking ahead, UnionPay International is determined to leverage its extensive global network and localized service capabilities to collaborate with stakeholders in the cultural, tourism, retail, and lifestyle sectors. The goal is to advance cross-border payment usage and create richer, more fluid, and innovative payment experiences for cardholders throughout the world, while enhancing cultural exchange and consumer connectivity on an international scale.
