L'Occitane's Continued Support for Women: Celebrating the Social Impact Award Recognition

L'Occitane's Ongoing Commitment to Women's Empowerment

In a tremendous recognition for its long-term commitment to women's empowerment, L'Occitane is celebrating Megumi Ishimoto, the representative of the NPO "Women's Eye," who recently won the individual "Social Impact" award at the HAPPY WOMAN AWARD 2026. This award is a new category established to acknowledge remarkable contributions to society, launched in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the HAPPY WOMAN FESTA.

A Special Donation Initiative

To commemorate this honor, L'Occitane is donating a portion of the sales from its limited edition "Mimosa" collection to the HAPPY WOMAN® Fund, which supports empowerment initiatives for women. This generosity also aligns with the upcoming HAPPY WOMAN FESTA 2026 TOKYO, scheduled for March 8, 2026, at the United Nations University, where L'Occitane will support a talk session entitled “My Happiness Moves Society – Just Like Mimosa Flowers, Supporting Each Other and Living Together.”

The session aims to provide participants with insight into how personal happiness can contribute to societal change as talent IMALU collaborates with graduates of Women’s Eye's human resource development programs. Together, they will share their unique life experiences and how they've dealt with various challenges in their journeys, inspiring attendees to take their next steps.

The Women's Eye Program and Its Impact

L'Occitane's support for the women's empowerment efforts via Women's Eye began in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake. Since 2016, the company has consistently backed the "Grassroots Academy" program, which nurtures young female leaders in Tohoku to address gender issues in local communities and spur empowerment.

Recognized for her significant contributions to these efforts, Megumi Ishimoto has been a driving force in advancing gender equality and fostering social change through training female leaders and creating community networks. Her dedication was vital in earning the recent award.

During the talk session, participants will explore how their unique life stories connect to broader societal narratives, with four Grassroots Academy alumni sharing their insights on personal challenges, support networks, and transformative moments that inspired their dedication to social work.

Moreover, the atmosphere at the event will be enhanced by the display of L'Occitane's "Mimosa" series. The collection offers fragrances reminiscent of the warmth of spring, embodying encouragement and positivity as the scents envelop attendees in a refreshing embrace.
