Matsuda Town's Online Obstetrics and Pediatrics Service
In a significant move to enhance healthcare accessibility, Matsuda Town in Kanagawa Prefecture has partnered with Kids Public Inc. to introduce the
Online Obstetrics and Pediatrics Service. This initiative, effective from December 1, 2025, aims to support residents in their pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting journeys through convenient digital consultations.
Background of the Initiative
As part of its
Children First approach, Matsuda Town considers children as its greatest treasure, undertaking various measures to alleviate the burden on families raising children. This includes a medical expense assistance program for children up to the age of 18. However, the town faces a challenge due to a limited number of medical facilities offering obstetrics and pediatric services. This has led to a growing need for a platform where expecting and new parents can seek expert advice comfortably.
To strengthen support across pregnancy and parenting phases, the
Online Obstetrics and Pediatrics Service was established. This online medical consultation service connects residents from the comfort of their own homes, enabling them to engage with obstetricians, pediatricians, and midwives anytime and anywhere, thus contributing to a supportive environment for raising children.
Comments from Matsuda Town Mayor Hiroyuki Motoyama
Hiroyuki Motoyama, the Mayor of Matsuda Town, expressed his enthusiasm regarding this new service:
"We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for families to raise their children. Given the limited number of pediatric and obstetric facilities in the Ashigarakami region, the introduction of the Online Obstetrics and Pediatrics service facilitates easier access for consultation on healthcare and daily parenting concerns. We hope many residents will benefit from this initiative, leading to a town filled with smiles."
