UNSW Partners with D2L for Comprehensive Learning Platform Transformation
The University of New South Wales (UNSW), a premier research institution in Australia, has selected D2L Brightspace as its new foundation for digital learning. This strategic partnership is set to transform the educational experience for more than 80,000 students and numerous educators across the university.

The collaboration with D2L will enable UNSW to establish a more consistent, personalized, and accessible learning environment. The multi-year rollout of D2L Brightspace will create an integrated digital learning platform that supports a variety of learning pathways, both on-campus and flexible.

Reflecting on the rapid changes in higher education, Professor Vlado Perkovic, Provost and Acting Vice-Chancellor at UNSW Sydney, remarked, "Higher education is changing rapidly. We can see the impact of changing student expectations, new models of education, and emerging technologies here in Australia, while globally we are seeing even greater change on the horizon." This statement emphasizes the need for a long-term vision of future learning environments to meet the evolving needs of students and educators.
In alignment with this vision, Professor Sarah Maddison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience at UNSW, indicated that the university is focused on designing a future learning environment in partnership with students and staff. - - D2L Lumi: This collection of tools, including Lumi Chat, Lumi Tutor, and Lumi Feedback, aims to enhance the educational experience while adhering to responsible AI design to maintain ethical standards and academic integrity.
- - D2L Performance+: A comprehensive analytics dashboard that provides insights into learner engagement, success, and retention, allowing educators to make informed decisions to bolster student outcomes.
