Introducing the 'Mood' Music Event Series
Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore, located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is set to launch a groundbreaking monthly music event series called
'mood' starting August 2025. In collaboration with the Berlin-based speaker brand
ADAM Audio, this series aims to explore a new relationship between music and our daily lives by focusing on the ambient influences of music on our moods.
The concept revolves around the idea of connecting with music not just through knowledge and theory but through sensory experiences and shared atmospheres.
'mood' invites participants to discover new ways of enjoying music while engaging with fellow attendees in an interactive environment.
Event Details
The first installment of the
'mood' series will take place with
TSUBAKI FM as the curator, focusing on the theme of
film music. The events are scheduled as follows:
- - Talk Event on August 15 (Friday) featuring Soundtrack Brothers as DJs.
- - Listening Event on August 22 (Friday), where attendees can experience curated tracks in a relaxing setting.
- - A POP UP exhibition running from August 15 to 28, showcasing records and related literature curated by VDS (Vinyl Delivery Service).
The listening and talk events will occur across three unique spaces within the bookstore, each designed to provide an immersive music experience.
Listening Events at Anjin
Held on the second floor of Building 2, the
Anjin space offers attendees a chance to enjoy DJ performances combined with food and drinks. With a focus on creating a relaxed atmosphere, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy handpicked tracks powered by
ADAM Audio’s studio-quality sound.
First event scheduled for August 22 from 19:00 to 22:00. Free entry with one drink order required.
Talk Events at SHARE LOUNGE
The
SHARE LOUNGE event space on the second floor of Building 3 will facilitate stimulating discussions among curators, artists, and experts. These events will dive deep into the cultural narratives behind the music, providing insights and new ways to appreciate listening. Each conversation will also lead to corresponding articles in the magazine
BRUTUS to further engage the audience.
First talk event scheduled for August 15 from 19:30 to 20:30, with a participation fee of 2,200 yen (tax included).
Advance registration required until 2 hours before the event.
POP UP Experience on the Music Floor
The
POP UP at the music floor in Building 1 will feature records and books selected by VDS, allowing attendees to discover music themes and take inspiration home. The records can also be listened to on
ADAM Audio speakers, merging inspiration with tangible music selections.
POP UP will run from August 15 to August 28.
