Naoki Nakanishi Joins TechTouch as Head of Public Services to Advance Digital Transformation

Naoki Nakanishi Takes the Helm at TechTouch's Public Services Sector

On January 1, TechTouch Inc. announced the appointment of Naoki Nakanishi as the new Head of Public Services. Nakanishi joins from Salesforce Japan and Amazon Japan, where he managed sales departments targeting public sectors, including municipalities and government agencies.

Context of the Appointment

In recent years, the advancement of digital transformation (DX) within local governments and public agencies has been met with notable challenges due to complex systems and usability issues. These hurdles have inhibited the effective implementation of digital initiatives. In response, TechTouch is set to complete its adaptation to the Local Government Wide Area Network (LGWAN) environment by March 2025, making it a unique Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) position within the public sector, according to the company's internal survey.

As municipalities across Japan, from massive urban centers to medium-sized towns like Shizuoka and Kawasaki, increasingly recognize the benefits of digital tools, the demand for effective DX support has surged. TechTouch believes that reinforcing its expertise in public services through seasoned professionals is crucial to deliver higher value. Therefore, they have recruited Nakanishi, a professional well-versed in public sectors, to spearhead its initiatives.

Nakanishi’s extensive experience in public sector sales at Salesforce and Amazon will aid in establishing a robust framework that enables accessible and usable digital solutions for public services.

Profile of Naoki Nakanishi

Nakanishi began his career with Salesforce Japan in 2013, focusing on sales to local governments and central ministries. He progressed to become the head of the Local Government and Tourism Sales Department, where he significantly expanded business in these sectors. His recent role involved leading the development of a sales division at Amazon Japan dedicated to the Government Electronic Procurement System (GEPS) and supporting public institutions in integrating Amazon’s business solutions.

Insights from Nakanishi

In his own words, “During my long career in sales and management for public institutions, I have come to strongly believe that the realization of a ‘system that anyone can use’ is essential for effective DX in government.” He noted that TechTouch, known for dramatically improving system usability as a leading DAP in the country, is already in use by numerous ministries and agencies. He believes that, within the constraints of limited personnel and resources, public bodies are compelled to enhance resident services, and he sees TechTouch as a direct solution to these challenges. Drawing on his experience in the public domain, he aims to extend the reach of TechTouch to more municipalities and agencies and to promote citizen-friendly digitalization that contributes to overall social DX.

Comments from TechTouch CEO Naka Imuta

Naka Imuta, CEO of TechTouch, expressed enthusiasm about Nakanishi’s appointment: “At TechTouch, we are committed to creating a society where everyone can navigate technology; the digital transformation of the public sector is a critical area that directly impacts citizens’ convenience. With the increasing inquiries from municipalities since the completion of our LGWAN adaptation in March 2025, I am reassured to have someone like Nakanishi, with outstanding passion and proven achievements in the public field, on board.”

Imuta utters confidence in Nakanishi’s profound connections with government bodies and his experience in launching large-scale organizations as driving forces to elevate their public services to the next level. Together, they will work towards swiftly delivering the benefits of digitalization to public employees and, ultimately, to the citizens.
