GAC Expands European Presence with AION V Launch in Finland
On September 23, 2025, GAC Group officially launched its global strategic electric SUV, the AION V, in Finland, marking a significant expansion into the European electric vehicle market. With this introduction, Finland becomes the third European country to welcome GAC vehicles, highlighting a pivotal milestone in GAC’s European market strategy. The move not only strengthens the presence of high-quality Chinese electric vehicles in the Nordic region but also underscores GAC's ambitions in Europe.
The launch in Finland is a crucial part of GAC's broader European strategy, which gained momentum following the signing of a global partnership agreement with Inchcape at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. This collaboration leverages Inchcape's extensive sales and service network along with GAC's advanced technologies, thereby providing Finnish and European consumers access to the strengths of both companies. As the first market in this partnership, Finland is just the beginning, with plans for GAC to expand its footprint further across Europe.
Designed to align with Finland’s priorities for sustainability, safety, and spaciousness, the AION V offers compelling advantages in technology and user experience. The vehicle has secured a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP in 2025, substantiating its commitment to automotive safety. With a range of up to 510 kilometers based on the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) and ultra-fast charging capabilities that can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes, the AION V alleviates range anxiety for electric vehicle owners, especially as Finland expands its charging infrastructure.
The spacious interior, coupled with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm and a cargo capacity of 427 liters, makes the AION V an ideal choice for various lifestyles, be it family trips or outdoor adventures. Adding to its appeal, the model offers an 8-year warranty either for the vehicle or up to 160,000 kilometers, along with an 8-year battery warranty or up to 200,000 kilometers, assuring customers of durability and lowering the total ownership costs.
