China International College Students' Innovation Competition 2025 Finals Successfully Held in Zhengzhou

The 2025 finals of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition were successfully concluded in Zhengzhou from October 13 to 15. Organized by the Ministry of Education alongside ten other governmental departments and the People's Government of Henan Province, this prestigious event was hosted at Zhengzhou University. With an impressive backdrop of innovation, the competition attracted a staggering 6.19 million project submissions from 24.43 million participants hailing from 5,673 universities across 161 nations and regions.

During the final round on October 15, six teams made presentations, each demonstrating their groundbreaking projects to a panel of judges. Among the finalists, Tsinghua University earned the coveted top prize for its project titled "Next-Generation General-Purpose Model and AI Agent Ecosystem Based on Brain-like Architecture.' Hot on their heels was Zhejiang University, securing the second place with its innovative "YiWise – The Industry Leader in AI Large Model Interactive Marketing Services." The third prize was awarded to teams from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, alongside a joint project from the University of Oxford and University of Leicester, and another from Nanyang Technological University.

The awards ceremony was marked by a significant flag handover event, wherein representatives from the Ministry of Education and the governments of Henan and Jiangsu formally passed the event flag, indicating the readiness for the next competition in 2026. This year also included the inaugural Hong Kong and Macao regional contest, and the competition expanded its global outreach with seven regional contests held across Europe, Africa, and beyond.

The overarching theme of this year's competition was 'Dare to Differ, Dare to Win,' indicating a visionary focus on bridging education and innovation. The competition not only garnered the involvement of the world's leading universities but also fostered a platform for vibrant academic exchange and collaboration among young innovators from both China and around the globe.
